How to Change Your Instagram Reel Covers (even after posting!)
Today we’re ditching the “I can’t post this reel till it fits perfectly in my grid” mentality… because if you think about it, you probably don't even remember what you saw on insta when you woke up and immediately started scrolling this morning.
I posted this carousel about how I show up looking like I have my shit together, and one of the hottest tips was about how you could change reel covers after you hit publish.
GAMECHANGER, RIGHT?! 💪🏻
It's super easy and keeps me from overthinking my feed too much, let me walk you through how…
HOW TO EDIT YOUR REEL COVERS (even) AFTER POSTING THEM:
Select the reel you want to add a new cover to.
Tap the three dots in the top right corner of the reel.
Tap “Edit” (the pencil icon)
Tap the white word “Cover” on the preview image next to caption
Click “Add from camera roll"
Choose new photo from your phone
Tap “Done”
Tap “Done”, one more time
Ta-Da!!
MORE REEL COVER TIPS:
Don't upload a new cover without a title!
Make text legible from the feed, so people can get a sense for what value you offer, and can find what they're looking for.
When choosing images and colors, start playing with a pattern… space selfies apart, space colors apart, mix up your reel covers in an organized way.
Add a darker overlay to your images so the text is easier to read.
If what you uploaded isn't looking right, adjust and re-upload again!
HAVE FUN, BE PLAYFUL (just be consistent!)
