FROM ONE ELDEST DAUGHTER TO ANOTHER

Workaholics grinding in a cubicle are no longer cool. Neither are moms feeling stuck at home with a dream but no follow-through.Which is why I went all-in on this online business gig...I was both of these.

BUILDING A BUSINESS IN THE MARGINS OF MOTHERHOOD.

BUILDING A BUSINESS IN THE MARGINS OF MOTHERHOOD.

While I’m not being a soccer mom to two girls, you can usually find me up late watching The Office, or surfing the airbnb app for ‘grammable family vacation spots. And that’s only if I’m not sipping a homemade froth-heavy mushroom latte, deep in my latest unputdownable book.

A family of four sitting on a bed with light-colored bedding, celebrating a new baby. The father has a beard, glasses, and a tattoo on his leg. The mother holds a swaddled baby, while a young girl leans on her, both looking at the baby. They are in a bright room with horizontal blinds on the window and a nightstand with a lamp and a potted plant.

I WENT FROM A CUBICLE TO CEO ON MATERNITY LEAVE

As I held my newborn daughter, I read the email that said I was being let-go from my cozy corporate job and moved into a contractor role with no benefits and no guarantee of client work. Yikes.

It was at that moment I had to make a choice: either start the job hunt on indeed or launch a website.

Two days later, I had built a website, loosely defined some offers and a very rough idea of a dream client.

My business looks nothing like it did then, nor should it. I dive into this evolution further here.
